More and more! Beautiful poems. So different from each other, so energizing.

I Am From

Aaban

I am from the winterberry forest in my backyard,

Which is filled with autumn colours and a variety of wildlife.

I am from staying up past my bedtime with snacks,

to finish watching my favourite tv show,

Scooby doo of course.

I am from fasting on long, hot summer days, Whilst the sun roasts me as I patiently wait for my fast to end.

So I can enjoy the feast my mother prepared.

I am from taking walks with my family,

while we laugh and talk while walking underneath the glare of the sunset.

I am from joining school teams,

and making precious memories with my closest friends.

I am from treating others with respect and dignity.

And not being disrespectful to all, especially the elderly.

I am from playing basketball with my brother,

As my orange ball spins round and  round,

Shooting to the net.

I am from waking up early on eid,

While the entire house is frantic scurrying about,

Preparing for the enjoyable day.

I am from the garden my mom used to maintain

I Am From

By Hayden D

I am from my PS5

From Call Of Duty and Minecraft

I am from the big house beside

the quiet church with the black car

in the driveway

I am from St.Catharines

with big malls and stores

I am from having Christmas dinner and

home cooking from Pisquali and Armida

I am from having espresso and cappuccino’s

From my parents telling me it’s illegal to

turn the car light on and never steal

I am from no religion without restriction

I am from St.Catharines and Italian grandparents

I am from the time I watched my little brother break his wrist

I am from being the older sibling

From the old pictures in my grandparent’s house

Pictures of how they used to look

I am from stressing about big assignments

From being annoyed about boring ones(this one)

I am from my new pizza job and its repetitive tasks

I am from baking sweet dishes

I am from riding my nice bike every day

I am from using the weights in my garage

I am from spending time with my dad

I Am From

Malika Sidhu

I am from the red bricked house where you can see the nice sunset clearly.

From the smell of the pumpkins spice candles and the nice autumn breeze through the windows.

.I am from the laughter and happiness filled within my household..

From the fresh roses and flowers growing in my garden.

I am from the black converse shoes and silver  earings.

I’m from swimming in our pool during summer when the weather is nice and warm.

From being understanding of people and respectful.

I’m from the christmas dinners with my family every year.

From the being told to always give back to the people who need it.

I’m from the lack of understanding.

I’m from wanting to become a psychiatrist or lawyer in the future.

From the patient and caring household.

I’m from the long car rides when driving to a resort when we go on summer vacation.

From the friends that call me when i’m upset and the caring parents i have.

I’m from talking to my sister when somethings wrong and being close with your family.

Most importantly i’m from the always caring and talking to other people when they need it.

I Am From Poem

Kiyana Eremi

I am from the ancient land of Iran,

Where history and culture elegantly span.

I am from the city of Flowers and Nightingales,

From the pleasant smell of white tuberoses and daffodils.

I am from the wise poems of Hafez and Saadi,

From the graceful traditional music of this country.

I am from the spring blossoms that appear every year in this yard and that alley,

From the joy of the Nowruz tradition, a new year’s start, celebrating with family, and a bond in heart.

I am from nature and the green trees,

From the sound of chirping birds in the early mornings.

I am from my wishes with dandelions in the natural wind,

From dancing flowers and dandelions in the beautiful spring wind.

I am from the moment that I and my grandpa went to buy the sweet aloe vera juices,

From those memories in my grandparents’ cozy house and the beautiful backyard with the Geranium and Marvel-of-Peru flowers.

I am from the perusal and approval of the books and notes,

From the pages, the words, and the stories that fill in the books.

I am from the playing and passive of my violin,

From the elegant classical music of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven.

I am from the memories of watching movies and animations with my little brother, Arvin,

From making tasty pizzas, cakes, and pancakes with him in the past.

I am from the white and gold daisies with that soft blue sky,

From the graceful rays on Earth from the sun, where nature and living creatures switched on.

I am from a new chapter in my life history,

From my journey to Canada with my valuable family.

I am from the fresh memories of a hard-working student,

From the great efforts and advice of always doing your best.

I am from the chocolate cakes and fluffy pancakes I ate with my family,

From the joy of decorating many flavourful sweets.

I am from my beige-coloured house with the fresh smell of green grass cutting in the backyard,

From the delicious aroma of home cooking from my parents.

I am from the thrill of sports, where I give it my all,

From playing with my team and cheering them all.

I am from an endless story that I will continue on my way,

From the beginning to progress with improvements and success.

  “I Am From Poem”              By:Roshna

I am from waking up on a warm summer day,

From hearing the birds chirping their morning song.

I am from a three story house,

That gets quiet sometimes from being an only child.

I am from smelling the fresh veggies,

From my parent’s garden.

I am from carrying my pink polka dotted blanket,

That I always carried everywhere.

I am from going on afternoon walks with my parents,

On the Welland Canal where you can see nature.

I am from celebrating Ramadan and Eid,

Where we wake up at five in the morning to get dressed.

I am from eating my favourite food,

That is lasagna and kifta.

I am from the city of St.Catharines,

That is filled with unique people.

I am from a family that has over one hundred cousins,

That are all from different places.

I am from playing fairies in the backyard,

When I was seven years old.

I am from bike riding with my dad,

Until the sun went down.

I am from a busy neighborhood,

That is always chaotic.

I am from going on picnics every Saturday in the summer,

While making memories with my family.

I am from smelling my mom’s baked goods,

And licking the spoon even though my mom told me not too.

I am from those moments,

And I would trade them for nothing.

I Am From

Shianne Supnad

I am from

My gray stuffed elephant,

Who helped me fall asleep.

From playing with plastic fake food and Polly Pockets.

I am from the yellowish green walls of my sweet condo.

Warm, bright

The birds chirping that awoke me.

I am from beautiful orchids,

The bright colours of pink and yellow that shine on rainy days,

The wonderful smell that lingers throughout the house.

I’m from singing happy birthday with a cake at 12 AM,

On a family member’s birthday.

I am from my mom and dad,

Constantly being told ”I love you” and “be careful”.

I’m from the Philippines and Toronto.

Ube, warm, sour soup.

The aroma of my mom’s amazing cooking.

I am from the scars I got,

Racing my sister down a roller coaster line,

From the laughter and fun I had with my older sister,

The parking lot she taught me how to ride a bike in.

I’m from the safe arms of my mother,

The way she makes me comfortable,

Especially when I feel down.

I am from – Khayal

I am from my paintings

From my flower handprints that I made in kindergarten and my little sketchbook

I am from my grayish house

From my sister’s red bicycle that is on the front porch

To the wildflowers that grow in the fields beside

I am from family gatherings

To Making food with grandma and eating it while watching her favorite movies

I am from my old dolls that my sister carries around with her now

And the toy kitchen that I always used to make dinner for my mom and dad

I am from my broken arm

From the late night hospital visit and the pink cast that all my friends signed their names on

I’m from my friends and family

From seeing my sister grow up and run around

I’m from New Jersey and India

From the tacos and samosas we would always have at family gatherings

I am from the times I would hang out with my friends after school

From the doughnuts and muffins we would have at Tim’s

I am from my that old memories with friends I don’t want to forget

Like the time we went camping together

I’m from my parents sayings,

don’t take candy from strangers and never let go of my hand

I am from my old fish Goldie, that I had when I was six

I’m from the old times when I would talk to her even though she couldn’t hear

I’m from the swimming races in my cousins pool

The time She went the opposite way

I am from my baby photo album with all my cousins running in the pictures

To the time where I threw all my food on the floor

I am from the best memories that I could’ve asked for, that are now history
