I Am From
Blake Sim
I am from a place surrounded by tall buildings
I’m from subway train noises,
Gets really annoying at night, when I’m trying to sleep
But now
I’m from smell of grass,
Making me feel fresh
I’m from nice and calm bug noises at night
I’m from identical looking dad,
Who people can tell we’re dad and son by just looking at it
I’m from smart mom,
Who always teach me to do right things
I’m from cute little sister,
Who always have positive attitude
I’m from Jun-seok,
My best friend back in Korea, got to know each other by Pokemon
I’m from warm delicious Janchi-guksu
I’m from bulgogi,
Which is preferred by my sister more
I’m from carrot,
My favorite snack
I’m from fried eggs
I’m from A&W burgers
I’m from “clean your room”
I’m from “you’re the weirdest”,
Which is I can absolutely agree on it
I’m from “go outside, and get some fresh air and a sunshine”,
Which is not going to happen easily thanks to my window
Thanks window
Where I’m From
By Clara Neeland
I am from a river
From boxes and trucks
I am from the new smells, pondering a picture:
Up, down, left or right
I am from a weed
That can find a home in many different conditions
I am from love and smiles
From Allison and Mark
I am from the “you will meet a friend” and “follow your dreams”
From “life is full of adventures” and “learning is success”
I am from knowledge, knowing I can
I am from the river’s bend, blindly following the path letting the current pull me.
From shiny, silver salmon and spicy eye watering curry, jucy wild blueberries
From the packed canoes and sweaty humans paddling through life
The strength in my thoughts guide me
Together we go with the flow.
Just like a river
